When my plaster ceiling collapsed in my 100-year-old home, they rebuilt the space from the joists up, ensuring structural integrity, modern electrical work, and a stunning bedroom with a custom accent wall.

They also restored my front porch, replaced crumbling steps, and installed a beautiful mahogany door, navigating historical district permissions with ease. Two standout projects included custom corten steel garden edging and a bespoke aluminum privacy screen—both functional and artistic.

Gilday was a terrific partner from start to finish. Their in-house architect, designer, and on-site project managers were all professional, caring, and talented.

The kitchen project was a complete redesign & included the removal of a supporting wall. Then I made the decision to expand the project to also include hardwood floor installation on 1 complete level of my townhome, extensive painting, and a powder room renovation. All were coordinated by Gilday and completed beautifully.

Their process is thorough and allows for collaboration, options, and compromise. No project is without its challenges. What's most impressive about Gilday is that they anticipate issues, offer solutions, & take responsibility for resolution. They are fair and operate their business with the highest integrity. I would use them again without hesitation.

Gilday did a renovation for us, in a condo in Friendship Heights, MD, and we were totally satisfied with the entire process.

They are incredibly easy to work with and as a friend of ours and fellow client said about them "they find a way to get to yes". Whenever I went into the unit during the renovation it was always neat and tidy, even after a long day's work. They were always available for consulting during the project and it was clear that they wanted us to be totally pleased when they were finished. We were.

Not every contractor can or will work in a building where there are very specific rules. But these folks are simply THE BEST.

We hired Gilday to do a fairly large renovation of our home in AU park/DC.  This involved the addition of a master suite, family room and basement as well as removing an old side porch to become an office space.   From the attention to our existing landscaping and preservation, to making our indoor space liveable while all of this was going on.....I can't say enough. 

If you value quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and customer service, Gilday is your contractor.  We really wanted to preserve the "1930 feeling" of this house and keep its charm.  They did that. Their standards are high and you should be prepared for what that means financially.    I always felt that we had the ultimate decision on the designs and selections. 

We worked closely with the architect and designers to keep within our budget.  There are always changes that come along and those were always our changes!  We are now four years out from the project completion and I still call Gilday about small issues in the house.  I feel like Kevin, the designers, and the project manager became like family to us.  They take pride in their work and it shows.  Having a point person with your on-site project manager always on the job, every day, is a huge bonus.  Gilday does not use a large crew....these are trusted craftspersons and contractors that Gilday select to work on your renovation.   I am grateful we made this choice, and get many compliments on our home.

Gilday did a spectacular job of designing and renovating my kitchen. They transformed a dark, cramped, dysfunctional space into a beautiful, bright, well-designed room that is a joy to work and dine in. Everyone with whom I dealt at Gilday was professional, competent and pleasant.

The designers had creative solutions to knotty problems that none of the other contractors and designers I consulted were able to deal with satisfactorily. The craftsmen and subcontractors all adhered to the highest quality standards. The firm stuck to the budget and timetable.

Most remarkably, they went far beyond expectations in dealing with problems both before and after project completion. Over a year after the project was finished, I called with a couple of small issues and questions; everything was dealt with graciously and promptly. One of the items I had trouble with was no longer under manufacturer’s warranty; Gilday nevertheless replaced it immediately and without charge.

After having had several less than ideal home renovation experiences, I was surprised and delighted by the high level of service provided by Gilday and recommend them enthusiastically.
