The entire front elevation of this Tudor style home was transformed during the final phase of this Washington DC whole house renovation project that included multiple interior renovations to expand the kitchen and master bedroom.

Designers created a strong focal point by widening the front door and framing it with a hefty arched limestone trim molding, then added a gable roof above an existing bay window. Lamps on either side of the front door and new copper downspouts coming down from the gable roof further define the front entry.

The heft of the front door and verticality of the gable above it work in unison to strengthen the entire visual impact of the home while creating an attractive arrival experience.
