The clients desired a contemporary kitchen with room for two cooks and family gatherings. Working within the existing parameters, we removed the peninsula and breakfast room pantries and constructed a larger opening between the breakfast and family rooms. An 11-foot island provided seating, storage and workspace, while the vaulted ceiling added height and a visually connected the kitchen and breakfast areas. A dry bar, located between the kitchen and dining room, created space for a beverage refrigerator and barware. Walnut veneered base cabinetry anchored the space and brought warmth to white quartz countertops and grey, tiled backsplash.
