A bold black custom hood juxtaposed with crisp white cabinetry and geometric tiles created energetic contrast in this transitional kitchen renovation. We redefined the space by removing the wall between the kitchen and family rooms and constructed an 9-foot opening to connect the spaces and improve traffic flow. We repurposed the unused alcove to incorporate a tall panty, ice dispenser, and counter space. Replacing the island with a kitchen table gave the illusion of a more expansive floor plan and a feeling of intimacy. To add additional natural light and symmetry, we added a new window to the left of the cooktop. This bright, light-filled kitchen is packed with personality.
