ADVANCING OLD WORLD CRAFTSMANSHIPThough the clients loved their 1937 brick colonial, it wasn’t able to accommodate large gatherings of friends & family—and they very much wanted to entertain at home. SolutionsThe vastness of the 1st floor addition is controlled by ceiling treatments in each of three areas: kitchen (tray ceiling), breakfast room (vaulted) & great room (revealed beam). The size and scale of new and existing spaces is well balanced—the rooms are different sizes and possess distinctly different characters. ![]() |
